User Files collects every file you’ve attached in chat so Dexter can reference source documents, spreadsheets, and other factory context in any future conversation without re-uploading.

How Files Get Here

When you attach a file to a chat message — by dragging it onto the chat area, clicking the Attach button, or using the file upload zone — the file is saved to your factory’s uploads directory. It appears in the User Files panel automatically.

Supported Formats

  • Spreadsheets — CSV, Excel (.xlsx, .xls)
  • Documents — PDF, Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx)
  • Images — PNG, JPEG, and other common image formats
  • Data files — JSON, YAML

Persistence

Uploaded files persist for the life of the factory. Any conversation within the same factory can reference previously uploaded files — you never have to re-upload the same document.
Files are shared across all conversations in the same factory. Upload a production log once and Dexter can reference it in any future conversation.
